Alba Botanica

Every Enoman color has a name and an origin. This one is called Alba, and it is the most honest of them all.

Every Enoman color has a name, and an origin. This one is called Alba.

Alba is the quiet one. Where our other colors are drawn from bark, wood, and fruit, Alba asks for none of them. The cloth is left in its own natural tone, and the leaves are pressed onto it just the same.

This is the hardest of our colors to make. With the others, a natural dye covers the cloth, and small imperfections soften into the background. Alba has nowhere to hide. There is no color to cover the surface, so every leaf must give itself fully to the cloth. When a leaf holds well, its shape is clear and complete. When it does not, the cloth shows it plainly.

That is also what makes Alba the most honest. Nothing is added, and nothing is concealed. What appears is only the leaf and the mark it leaves behind, resting on a surface that was never colored at all.

The result is soft, and almost bare. A pale ground carrying the shape of a single leaf. What you see is the cloth, the leaf, and the quiet meeting between them.

This is not a color that is made, nor even one that is drawn. It is a color that is simply allowed to be.
