Enoman at Suwatu and Wanawatu

Since April 2025, Enoman has been part of the galleries at Suwatu and Wanawatu by Mil and Bay, two clifftop retreats above Prambanan where local craft is held close.
High on the Sumberwatu clifftop, above the plains of Prambanan, sit Suwatu and Wanawatu. Two places by Mil and Bay, looking out toward Merapi and the ancient temples below. The air is different up there. Slower, quieter, closer to the land.

They are known for many things. A table set with food grown and cooked by local hands. Gamelan drifting through the evening. A view that visitors describe as priceless. Yet beneath all of it runs a single thread. A belief that what is made by local artisans deserves a place of honour.

That belief lives in their galleries, where handmade work by Indonesian makers is gathered and offered to guests. Since April 2025, Enoman has found a home there.

There is an ease in belonging to a place like this. Suwatu and Wanawatu did not set out to be ordinary. They chose to build something rooted in its own soil, made by the hands of the people around it. We work the same way. Our pieces begin in a garden, colored by leaves and flowers, shaped slowly and by hand.

To sit within their galleries is to be among our own. Makers who believe that beauty is richest when it carries the mark of a place and the people who made it. Above the temples, between the mountain and the plain, Enoman feels quietly at home.
