Enoman at SMESCO Indonesia

Enoman has been selected into the showcase of SMESCO Indonesia, the national platform where the finest work of Indonesian makers is gathered and brought forward.

Behind every craft that travels far, there is usually a road that made the journey possible. SMESCO Indonesia is one of those roads. Established by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, it exists for a single purpose. To carry the work of Indonesian makers beyond the places they could reach alone, to the nation and to the world.

A country builds these roads on purpose. Not to lift the weak, but to honour what is worth carrying. To make sure that a piece made carefully in a small garden in Yogyakarta can find its way to a shelf in the capital, and one day, further still.

This year, Enoman was selected into the SMESCO showcase.

To be chosen is not a small thing. SMESCO gathers work from across the archipelago, and what sits within it is meant to represent the best of what this country makes by hand. For Enoman to be counted among them is a quiet affirmation. That work born of leaves and flowers, colored slowly by nature, belongs in the same room as the finest craft of the nation.

There is meaning in standing where the country can see you. Not because we needed permission to make, but because a maker who is seen can grow, can reach, can carry a craft further than a single pair of hands ever could. The road was built for work like this. We are glad to walk it.
